New modules at IBTS with well-known evangelical scholars (info from Dr. Peter Penner)

At IBTS, we are preparing the coming academic year 2009/10 and would like to spread some news as well as see in what modules You may be interested for the coming academic year. It looks like we will have quite an exciting time with a number of key evangelical scholars involved. So if You know of someone who may benefit from these studies with us, please let them know and encourage them to apply for IBTS Biblical Studies Masters programme. But we also would be happy to welcome someone who would like to come and take just one or more modules with us in order to transfer it then to a different institution. This is what we anticipate to offer from BS for the coming academic year:

• Bible, Community and Context 1 and 2 as our core modules at IBTS in September 09. This module will be offered in team teaching under my leadership
• We would be interested to know if there is a need for Themes in Biblical Theology, which we could also offer in September 09. This will be offered by Dr Rollin Grams and Dr Robin Routledge.
• We are very happy to let You know that we will have again Prof Dr I Howard Marshall at IBTS teaching on NT Christology. The dates are: November 2 – 13 2009.
• As part of our Colloquium we will have Prof Dr Craig Blomberg presenting papers on the Gospel of John. The dates are: January 21-23 2010.
• Flowing the Colloquium we will have a series of lectures by Prof Dr Craig Evans on Biblical Backgrounds. The dates are: January 25-29 2010.
• With Dr Rollin Grams and Dr Lydie Kucova we will offer the module: Understanding Biblical Texts in their Original Languages. The dates are: January 25 to February 5, 2010.
• Another intensive block we plan to offer in March with Dr Robin Routledge on Biblical Narrative. The dates are not yet confirmed.

The strong accent of the coming Biblical Studies 2009/10 academic year is on the New Testament and we are grateful to have the well known professors Dr I Howard Marshall, Dr Craig Blomberg and Dr Craig Evans strengthening what we do at IBTS in Biblical Studies. Feel free to spread this information. We would be happy to welcome new students for this programme, or those who are involved in studies at different institutions to come and take one or more modules. … We hope that You find this programme, that we have set for those who are interested in Biblical Studies, to be as interesting and exciting as we feel about it.
